Three women were charred in the blast and fire at their house on Angalman Street in Muthiyalpet on Saturday morning.
A doctor from the government hospital said that the condition of one woman is said to be critical and the condition of two is stable.
Among the injured are 65-year-old Jyothi, 45-year-old Ezhilarasi and 14-year-old Srinidhi. Firefighters rescued them.
