The Trinamool Congress on Sunday appointed former Janata Dal (United) MP Pavan Varma as its national vice-president.
Mr Verma was an advisor to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, but broke away from the JD(U) in 2020 and later joined the TMC.
He was also a former officer of the Indian Foreign Service.
“Extremely proud to appoint Hon’ble President, Smt @MamataOfficial Shri @PavanK_Varma as Vice President of All India Trinamool Congress with immediate effect,” the party said in a tweet.
