Voting underway in Greater Chennai Corporation
The Greater Chennai Corporation has made security arrangements at all the polling stations in the city. Corporation commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi said on Saturday that polling began at 7 am at more than 4800 polling stations and security has been tightened at sensitive and sensitive polling stations in all wards.

Tender ballot papers have been distributed at all the polling stations. Each polling station has received 20 tender ballots. The Presiding Officer of each polling station has the right to issue tender ballot papers to such electors whose vote has already been cast by any other person. Once a voter finds that his vote has already been cast, the voter may request the Presiding Officer to allow voting through tender ballot papers.

Polling begins slow in Tiruchis
Voting for the urban local body elections in Tiruchi began at a slow pace on Saturday.

18,000 policemen deployed for civic polls in Chennai
The Greater Chennai City Police has beefed up security and deployed over 18,000 police and 4,000 non-police personnel for the local body elections to be held in 167 wards of the Chennai Corporation, which come under the jurisdiction of the city police.
On the orders of city police commissioner Shankar Jiwal, the police have made elaborate security arrangements in all the wards so that people can vote without any fear or hesitation.

According to the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission (TNSEC), between 5 pm and 6 pm, only those with COVID-19 symptoms and those who are infected will be allowed to vote.
