TNPL: Umran Malik’s SRH ‘friend’ Sanjay Yadav smashes 70 runs in NRK vs MP

Yadav doesn’t have the same pace as his friend Umran but he grabbed the headlines in the TNPL match with his swashbuckling innings with an astonishing strike rate of 167, hitting 6 sixes. This TNPL match no. 10 between Nellai Royal Kings and Madurai Panthers, where NRK posted a mammoth total of 209, with Yadav scoring 70 off 42, with Baba Inderjeet backing him from the other end, 34 off 18. Yadav moved to No. 4 to help his team post a total win.

For Madurai Panthers, wicket-keeper Arun Karthik scored a century for his team with 106 off 57 balls. However, even this was not enough to put the Panthers on the line as they could only reach 183/8 after 20 overs.

Talking about Umran Malik, the right-arm pacer proved that he was the right choice to be handed the Indian cap in the second T20I against Ireland on June 28 as he stole India’s victory in the final over was. In India’s first T20I against Ireland, Umran got only one over in which he conceded 14 runs and fans were disappointed with his performance.

Notably, Ireland needed 17 runs in the final over against India to win and skipper Hardik Pandya gave Umran the responsibility of guiding his team over the line. The Indian bowlers had a rough day against the Irish, conceding 221 runs in 20 overs.
