Washington:
The US Secret Service on Saturday accused a Kansas man of threatening to harm President Joe Biden. The man, identified as Scott Ryan Merriman, has been charged with making threats against the president and causing harm with interstate communications, CNN reported,
He reportedly told agents that “he was told by God to travel to Washington, D.C. to ‘cut off the head of the serpent in the heart of the nation'”.
According to a criminal complaint, agents found Scott Ryan Merriman in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Wednesday.
He reportedly explained to agents that he was going to the White House because “he had to give President Biden a message and advise him that people are fed up with the division in the country and turn to God (or go to hell).” ),” reported CNN.
Secret Service agents said in the complaint that they searched Merriman and found in his bag a magazine filled with three rounds of .45 ammunition and a spotting scope – but no weapons.
He said Merriman had told him that God had told him to bring the gunpowder and that the spotting scope was meant to “reorganize,” CNN reported.
According to court records, he also called the White House switchboard and made threats against Biden. In a call to the White House, Merriman reportedly said that he was “coming into the White House, and going to behead the snake/antichrist.”
The White House operative called the Secret Service and an agent then spoke to Merriman. During a conversation with the agent, Maryman reportedly said, “I’m coming for his b*tch a** Sleepy Joe. I’m talking about President Biden and you can quote me,” CNN reports.
The agent said that Merryman was constantly making threats, saying, “I’m coming in with three bullets, not guns.”
According to the complaint, “You have two minutes, and then I’m coming,” she told the agent. “It’s done! You’re dead!”
