Making it clear that there is no confusion within the government over the restrictions, the minister said the views expressed by leaders of all political parties and several organizations would also be taken into account before taking a decision.
“With regard to the COVID guidelines, the Chief Minister has called an important meeting with senior ministers tomorrow at 1 pm. Opinions have been expressed regarding the restrictions imposed by the leaders of various political parties and organizations, and also the guidelines of the Centre. will be kept in.” Ashoka said.
Talking to reporters here, he said that there are about 15-20 districts in the state where cases are less, while in cities like Bengaluru and Mysore The number is increasing.
“While protecting the lives of the people, the government will also have to facilitate for their livelihood, especially the poor and daily wage workers, keeping all this in mind, we will arrive at a decision. I am sure the Chief Minister Will announce a decision which will be good for the people,” he said.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Wednesday that his government would re-examine COVID-19 restrictions, and on Friday make decisions regarding relaxations, including a weekend curfew.
With the rise in cases, the government last week decided to extend the existing COVID restrictions such as night curfew and weekend curfew till the end of January.
Asked about any confusion within the government as it is hinting at curbing the timing when cases are expected to peak, according to experts, by the end of this month and by the end of February. At the outset, Ashok said, “There is no confusion within the government, if anyone is making a statement, it is their personal matter, which will be taken into consideration even before taking a decision tomorrow.”
Taking into account the views of experts, the government will arrive at a decision as to whether it will be applicable to the state, he said, adding, “The government had earlier imposed restrictions like weekend and night curfew based on the reports of experts.”
