Here are the important Kerala developments to watch for today:

  1. Forest Minister AK Saseendran will chair an all-party meeting at Kalpetta in Wayanad today to discuss the recent spurt in man-animal conflict. The meeting is expected to discuss measures to reduce wild animal attacks and compensation to the victims.

  2. Mr. Saseendran will also inaugurate the electric fence built by the Vithiri Gram Panchayat with public support, a first of its kind initiative in the state to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

  3. Dhoni, the operation to capture the wild elephant PT-7, which has been causing terror with repeated intrusions into human habitations in Palakkad, is expected to begin today. The BJP will observe a hartal in Mundur, Puthuperiyaram, Akathethara and Malampuzha panchayats on Tuesday to protest against the attack of wild animals on human habitations.

  4. A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court is likely to hear an appeal against a single judge’s direction to the University of Kerala to nominate its representative in the search-cum-selection committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor for the appointment of Vice-Chancellor.

  5. Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan will inaugurate a protest against alleged corruption in Kozhikode Corporation today.
