Major news in Telangana to watch for today are:
1. Telangana government will soon launch ‘KCR Nutrient’ kit to address the hemoglobin and nutritional issues of pregnant women. The kit will be designed on the lines of Amma kit in Tamil Nadu and will be priced at Rs. 2,000 each
2. The government issued an order releasing a budget of Rs. Rs 17,700 crore for the implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme to empower Scheduled Castes with commercial enterprises. This is a one-time release for the entire year as the scheme was allocated the same amount in the annual budget of the government.
3. The government has ordered to allot one to one and a half acres of land in every village to promote rural sports. All collectors were asked to identify land for the purpose and the same would be discussed in the official meeting of the Chief Minister on May 18 to discuss infrastructure building programs in villages and towns.
4. South Central Railway has used about sixty luxurious suites for city commuters at Secunderabad and Nampally railway stations.
