Toyota Fortuner Legend is now available with four wheel drive. The new Legend 4×4 is priced at ₹ 42.33 Lakh (ex-showroom, India) – a full ₹ 3.72 Lakh pricier than the Legendary 4×2.
The biggest talking point is the four-wheel drive system, which was earlier available only on the standard Fortuner. The system offers low range, hill descent control and locking differential.
Cosmetically, the 4×4 version is identical to the 4×2 except for badging on the tailgate for Toyota’s four-wheel drive system. The cabin is also almost identical, with the most notable change being the addition of an 11-speaker JBL audio system, which was earlier limited to the four-wheel drive variant of the standard Fortuner.
The rest of the equipment list remains unchanged from the Legendar 4×2 with the kit including 18-inch alloys, quad-LED headlamps, sequential turn indicators, powered tailgate with handsfree opening, 8.0-inch touchscreen, connected car tech, wireless phone charger and more.
On the safety front, seven airbags, ABS, stability control, hill start assist and traction control are standard across all variants of the Fortuner.
The Legend 4×4 is powered by the same 204hp, 500Nm, 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine. The unit is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox as standard – the Legender gets neither a manual gearbox option, like the standard Fortuner, nor a petrol engine.
