The limited production derivative of the GR Corolla lacks a rear seat, gets revised gearing, smaller differential gears, new shock absorbers and wider tyres.
Toyota has wasted little time rolling out yet another limited-run version of the GR Corolla. while hot hatch started earlier in april Along with the Limited Run Circuit Edition, the Japanese carmaker has now revealed an even more track-focused Morizo variant. Compared to the debut variant, the GR Corolla is a stripped-down, more powerful version of the Morizzo hot hatchback, with the Morizo name coming from Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda who uses the Morizo name during racing. At first glance, the Morizzo looks similar to the Circuit version that was revealed earlier in the year, only minus the major rear spoiler. There are some notable changes inside the cabin and under the skin though.
The Morizzo variant makes changes to the suspension, gearing, differential and engine to enhance performance on the track.
Under it, the 5-door bodyshell is a two-seater hot hatchback with the rear seat removed to save weight. Further weight reduction measures include no provision for speakers or window winding mechanism at the rear doors, while the rear wipers and washer have also been removed. Also, like the Circuit version, the Morizzo gets a forged carbon fiber roof. The limited-run version also rides on wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrapped around new 18-inch forged wheels.

The Morizzo Edition gets its own unique suspension tune with new monotube shock absorbers with additional floor braces and rear strut brace to enhance the rigidity. The gearing is also unique to the GR Corolla Morizzo, with closely spaced ratios and smaller differential gears that help boost acceleration. The engine is still the familiar turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine from the standard GR Corolla, though torque has been increased from 370 Nm to 400 Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via Toyota’s GR-Four all-wheel-drive system, with drivers able to adjust the power splits 30-70, 50-50 and 60-40 front-to-rear .
Up front, it gets all the usual trimmings from the regular GR Corolla
Stopping power comes from ventilated discs at all four corners with 4 piston callipers at the front and 2 piston callipers at the rear.
