Delhi Traffic Police has made elaborate arrangements at important junctions of the city in view of the Beating Retreat ceremony to be held at Vijay Chowk on Saturday.
Joint CP (Traffic) Vivek Kishor said that several traffic restrictions will remain in force on January 29 from 2 pm to 9:30 pm. Vijay Chowk will remain closed for general traffic, while no vehicular movement will be allowed between the intersections on stretches like Rafi Marg. Sunehri Masjid and Roundabout Krishi Bhawan. Traffic will also remain closed from roundabout of Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk on Raisina Road and between Vijay Chowk and ‘C’ Hexagon on Rajpath.
“General public/motorists are advised to use alternate routes i.e. Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madrasa ‘T’ Point, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg etc.,” the advisory said.
DTC and other city buses will also be diverted from their normal routes during the same period. The advisory further states that after 7 pm, parking will be available for those coming to see the lights at Vijay Chowk behind the water channels between Rafi Marg and “C” Hexagon.
