Window for feedback will close on December 28
Telecom regulator TRAI on Tuesday issued a detailed consultation paper seeking stakeholder inputs on over 70 queries related to auction of spectrum used for offering 5G services.
TRAI’s views sought
The consultation paper follows the Department of Telecommunications (DoT)’s September 13 letter asking the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to provide recommendations on ‘auction of spectrum in identified frequencies for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT)/5G’. has been requested.
These included issues such as the applicable reserve price, quantum of spectrum for auction, related conditions like upfront payment, moratorium period applicable after payment and number of deferred payment installments.
“Specific issues have been raised in this consultation paper for consideration of the stakeholders… Written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by December 28, 2021 and counter-comments by January 11, 2022,” said the regulator.
