A group of railway passengers, Friends on Rails, has threatened to stage a sit-in in front of Trivandrum and Palakkad Divisional Railway Managers’ offices to highlight their grievances over non-resumption of over a dozen passenger and MEMU trains by Southern Railway. Was canceled in the wake of the pandemic.

If the Railways continues its apathy towards office-goers and other passengers who were left in the middle after the delay in resumption of train services, five passengers from each station will take part in the protest. Public representatives have agreed to protest at railway stations of various districts.

Last week, passengers scrambled for space on existing trains, which were packed to capacity, with little room to even stand. A woman had to be hospitalised, which was collectively called by the Railways citing unreasonable reasons for not resuming train services. Those who are interested in joining the protest can contact on 82812 17465.
