Kelleher played 10 times in the Reds’ title-winning campaign in the absence of Alisson due to injury, but is set to leave Liverpool in his quest of more first-team minutes.

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is set to sign for Brentford in a deal that could rise to  ($24 million), according to reports on Sunday.

Kelleher was to Liverpool’s first-choice keeper Alisson Becker during their Premier League title-winning campaign this season.

Brentford have reportedly agreed on an initial fee of £12.5 million for Kelleher, which could rise to £18 million if performance-related bonuses are met.

Kelleher, who has one year remaining on his Liverpool contract, also drew interest from Leeds, West Ham, and Bournemouth.

He was the hero of Liverpool’s 2022 League Cup final victory against Chelsea, making several fine saves and scoring a penalty in the 11-10 shoot-out win.

Kelleher also started in Liverpool’s 2024 League Cup final win against Chelsea. The 26-year-old will be replaced at Anfield by Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is set to join Arne Slot’s side next season after the Georgian agreed to his move to the Reds last year.

Kelleher’s imminent move to the London-side comes at the same time as Brentford keeper Mark Flekken’s transfer to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth around the £9 million mark.

Liverpool roped in the full-back in order to replace the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold, who opted to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Frimpong joins a strong Dutch contingent at Liverpool as he follows the footsteps of Virgil Van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch at the Merseyside club, helmed by another Dutchman Arne Slot. Frimpong will compete with Conor Bradley for the role of right back at Anfield.

Liverpool also continue to hold talks with Leverkusen over the possibility of a switch for German midfielder Florian Wirtz, who looks to be on his way out from the Bundesliga side.

Liverpool clinched their 20th top-flight title as they wrapped up the Premier League crown with a couple of weeks to go before the final gameweek in Slot’s debut season.
