The organization has managed to sell 600 clay idols this year, a complete turnaround in sales as compared to 2019, where they managed only 75 idols. And 2020 also saw a lukewarm response due to covid.
Bhonsle actively worked as a volunteer on Mumbai beaches that needed cleaning posts VisarajanThat’s when the idea of providing eco-friendly Ganpati to the people came to his mind.

So instead of preaching to them I decided to provide a solution. And we came up with this idea of eco-Ganpati,” says Bhonsle.
After a sale online, where he received a great response, he decided to pursue his mission and sell off the shelf. Other people including his wife Poonam Bhosle joined his mission. “We have 20 designs of authentic eco-friendly Ganesh idols made from natural colors ranging from turmeric and vermilion. The material we use is not plaster of paris, but Multani The clay for the idol is what makes it really eco-friendly,” says Poonam.
“While 2020, impacted by the COVID pandemic, saw a lukewarm response, this year the response has been phenomenal, despite restrictions on festival celebrations and fears of a third wave. We have 20 designs and a day before Ganeshotsav we are out of stock on all designs, we have managed to sell 600 pieces which I still can’t believe.
