Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, while speaking in Delhi on June 03 on the consignment of wheat rejected by Turkey, informed about the whole incident and said that ITC has no information that the wheat consignment is for Turkey. He also told that ITC has assured the Union Minister of investigation of the matter. “One country (Turkey) rejected our wheat consignment and sent it back. We have started investigation but after preliminary investigation, we got information that this export is of ITC Limited.” Netherlands bought the consignment. ITC didn’t know it was for Turkey. Which country did this, I have no idea about the motive behind it. But I am confident that India’s wheat is of good quality and ITC buys good wheat.”
