Twitter finally introduces ‘podcasts’ on its platform; see what’s new

New Delhi: The microblogging site is finally coming to podcasts on its platform. It has launched a trial to include podcasts, themed audio stations and (of course) Recorded + Live Spaces under the redesigned Spaces tab from August 25. The new makeover space will show users a variety of podcasts on different topics and they can give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to the podcast.

Announcing the new features on Twitter, the Space account wrote “Good news, today we’re starting to test a new Space tab, which includes podcasts, themed audio stations and (of course) Recorded + Live Spaces.” Huh”.

According to the company’s blogpost, “Starting Thursday, August 25, we are integrating podcasts into Twitter as a part of our newly redesigned Spaces tab. We know that there are more than 280 characters for some discussions. and bringing people closer to the ideas, content and creators they know and love is vital to Twitter, wherever the conversation takes place.”

Redesigned Space tab with new features

Now with the new Podcasts feature, it has redesigned its Spaces tab to offer a more interactive experience. Under the redesigned spaces is the personal center called “Station”. These will show users’ recommendations on a variety of topics like news, music, sports, and more, based on users’ tastes. It will also display a personalized selection of live and recorded spaces. Also, it will get optimized as more users listen to it and spend time on it.

Users will now see three sections when they open the redesigned Spaces tab: Stations, Spotlight, and Upcoming Spaces. The stations will show individual content, the Space Spotlight section will include top audio content on the platform, and the third section will list upcoming Space.

Twitter Space launched in 2020

The micro-blogging site has added a new feature in 2020 called “Spaces” for having live audio conversations on Twitter. A host will start the space and Twitter users can join in and listen in on the conversation. If a host wishes, he can allow others to speak in space.
