The deceased have been identified as Vikram Kumar (21) and Rahul Kumar (22), residents of Bakhtiyarpur village. Another person Munna Kumar (19) has been admitted to a government hospital in Samastipur and his condition is said to be critical.
Two people died and one became seriously ill after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Bihar’s Samastipur district. The deceased have been identified as Vikram Kumar (21) and Rahul Kumar (22), residents of Bakhtiyarpur village. Another person, Munna Kumar (19), has been admitted to a government hospital in Samastipur and his condition is said to be critical, they said.
Samastipur, Superintendent of Police, Hriday Kant while talking to reporters said, “The bodies of Vikram and Rahul have been sent for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report comes. The local police is probing the matter, the SP said, adding that searches are also being conducted to nab the suspected bootleggers.
Villagers claim that all three consumed alcohol on Monday. Vikram’s condition started deteriorating soon after drinking alcohol. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead on Monday. A local police official said on condition of anonymity that Rahul’s condition also deteriorated and he was taken to a hospital where he died on Tuesday.
