Two women going home from work were hit by a car

Two women employees of software major HCL were hit by a car near their office at Rajiv Gandhi Salai near Thalambur on Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as 23-year-old R.K., a resident of Palakkad. Srilakshmi and Tirupati’s 23-year-old S. Happened as Lavanya. He was working as an analyst and was living in a rented house in Thalambur.

On Wednesday night, both of them were hit by a car while trying to cross the road on their way home. Both have suffered head injuries. Passersby called an ambulance and informed the police. The car driver was apprehended when he tried to flee from the spot. Both the women were taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital. While Srilakshmi died on the way to the hospital, Lavanya breathed her last on Thursday.

The traffic investigation wing of Pallikaranai registered a case under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (A) (negligent cause of death) and arrested 20-year-old car driver Motish Kumar from Sholinganallur.
