Former India captain and star batsman Virat Kohli extended his “best wishes” to the U19 Indian team which will take on England in the U19 World Cup final later today. India and England clashed for the title on Saturday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound in Antigua. Virat Kohli himself led India to the U19 World Cup title after beating South Africa in the 2008 final in Kuala Lumpur. Taking to social media, Virat Kohli wrote: “Best wishes to our U-19 boys for the World Cup final”.
India is the most successful team in U19 World Cup history, having won the title a record four times.
England has won the trophy only once in 1998.
Earlier this week, Virat Kohli had a conversation with some members of the current U19 Indian cricket team.
Virat Kohli congratulated him and also explained what it means to play in the U19 World Cup final.
“He wished us all the best. When senior players talk to the team, the morale of the team goes up. He told us the simple, basic things about executing our game plan and playing according to the game situation. Team’s leading fast bowler all-rounder Rajvardhan Hangargekar wrote on his Instagram stories, “It was really nice to interact with Virat Kohli bhaiyya. Learned some important things about life and cricket from you that will help us improve in times to come. ” ,
