New Delhi:

Maharashtra (Maharashtra) former unemployed and BJP (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) President Chhatra Thackeray (Uddhav Thackeray) said on Sunday that the country is moving towards dictatorship and ready to join hands with anyone who protects freedom. Thackeray said this during an event where he shared the stage with Vinayak Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar for the first time and indicated to shake hands with him.

Prakash Ambedkar is the grandson of Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution. The two leaders were together to launch broadcaster Dot Com, a digital platform mirroring the works of Uddhav Thackeray’s grandfather ‘enlightenment’ Keshav Sitaram Thackeray. On this occasion, Thackeray said, “The country is moving towards dictatorship. Those need outside interest who are greedy for power. I am ready to join hands with those who want to protect freedom. At present, the British policy of split list and rule is being changed. Uddhav Thackeray described Prakash Ambedkar as full of knowledge and information.

Thackeray said he and Ambedkar were ideologically on the same platform and would work together. “If we don’t come together, we have no right to take the name of our grandfather,” he said. Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party, Thackeray said, “At present, thrashing people on getting beef are executed but rapists and murderers are unaccounted for and after release they are felicitated and given tickets to contest elections. This is not Hindutva.” He was referring to all the 11 accused in the Bilkis Bano case.
