After the BJP slammed the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government BJP leader Kirit Somaiya detainedShiv Sena MP and its chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has nothing to do with the action taken against Mr. Somaiya.
Refuting speculation of a split within the MVA over the action taken against Mr. Somaiya, Mr. Raut argued that the Home Department, which was part of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), might have acted after thinking that that a possible law and problem could have arisen because of Mr. Somaiya trip to kolhapur.
“I have discussed the issue with the Chief Minister [Uddhav Thackeray]… He said his office had nothing to do with it. Also, if Mr. Somaiya actually has evidence [NCP Minister] Hasan Mushrif, as he claims, has agencies within the state that are capable of dealing with his grievances. but if you [Mr. Somaiya] On the orders of MVA ministers are accusing [BJP-ruled] The central government and consequently, if there is a question of law and order in the state, then our home ministry has every right to take action to prevent such a situation,” Mr Raut said.
Mr. Thackeray did not concern himself with such “trivial matters”. There was no need for the BJP to blame the Chief Minister regarding Mr. Somaiya’s detention. The government couldn’t care less if someone continues to make false allegations against its leadership.
“Whatever is happening is an attempt by the BJP to destabilize and defame Maharashtra at the behest of the central government. They are trying to create confusion in the mind of the public with their brilliant allegations,” he alleged.
Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil also confirmed that the CMO has nothing to do with the action taken against Mr. Somaiya. He said the prohibitory order notice was issued to the BJP leader after the district administration officials thought that his presence in Kolhapur might create law and order problem.
Mushrif saw the ‘conspiracy’
Mr. Mushrif has condemned Mr. Somaiya’s allegations as part of a larger conspiracy by the BJP. He accused BJP state president Chandrakant Patil of being the mastermind of the conspiracy.
“I have been very vocal against the MVA leadership and about the Centre’s indiscriminate use of investigative agencies. [former Mumbai Police commissioner] Parmbir Singh. Therefore, I am being framed by the BJP through its tool Kirit Somaiya,” he said, dismissing all allegations against himself and his family as “false” and “baseless”.
Mr. Mushrif reiterated that he was going to file a ₹100 crore defamation suit against Mr. Somaiya and filed an FIR against Mr. Patil in connection with the alleged ₹150 crore annuity scam during the then Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP government. were going to do.
