Udhayanidhi Stalin sworn in as minister in Tamil Nadu cabinet

DMK youth wing leader and MLA, Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency, Udhayanidhi StalinTook oath as a minister in the Tamil Nadu cabinet on Wednesday. Mr. Udhayanidhi said that he has realized his responsibilities, and will act accordingly.

Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi administered the oath of office to Mr. Udhayanidhi at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning.

With his induction, the cabinet headed by his father and Chief Minister MK Stalin has increased from 34 to 35 ministers.

Elected from the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency, it first time legislator Youth welfare and sports development, special program implementation as well as poverty alleviation programs and rural indebtedness have been allocated to the departments.

An official press release from the Raj Bhavan further stated that on the recommendation of the Chief Minister, the Governor has approved the change of portfolios for the following Ministers: I. Periasamy, Minister for Cooperation, Minister for Rural Development; Rural Development Minister K.R. Periakaruppan will be the cooperative minister; Forest Minister K. Ramachandran will be the Tourism Minister and Dr. M. Mathiventhan, Tourism Minister will be the Forest Minister.
