An online undertaking is to be submitted by each student and each parent in each academic year in compliance with the UGC rules and its second amendment regarding submission of undertaking. Jain said that the violation of the rules of the UGC or the failure of the institution to take adequate steps to prevent ragging in accordance with these rules or failure to properly punish the perpetrators of the incidents of ragging, would attract penal action under the UGC Act.
