Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest organized by NPCI-IAMAI, Saurabh Garg, CEO, Unique Identification Authority of India said that there is immense potential to leverage Aadhaar in the fintech sector.
“We have reduced the rate per authentication from Rs 20 to Rs 3 and the aim is to ensure that various agencies, entities are able to harness the power of the digital infrastructure, which has been created by the state to provide There is a need to use people with ease to live with dignity,” Garg said.
So far more than 99 crore eKYCs have been done using the Aadhaar system.
Garg said, “I feel it provides a cost-effective and non-repudiation solution for fintech companies to add new customers. This is where the power of Aadhaar lies and the KYC of Aadhaar is lifetime and reusable. Provides identity which is the strength of the Aadhaar system.”
He said that UIDAI does not share biometrics with anyone and expects all its partners to maintain the same level of security and confidentiality as the authority does.
