Most of us get worried even after seeing a small scratch on our car. Just think of the anxiety and distress when someone crashes a Rs 2.5 crore supercar on the same day it was bought. Something similar happened with a man in Derby, UK. In photos tweeted by the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit, it is clear that the swanky red Ferrari was heavily damaged in the crash at Derby on 1 April. “The driver bought a Ferrari this morning and crashed it after driving it for less than 2 miles. No injuries,” read the caption posted by Derbyshire RPU. The Ferrari is seen parked on the side of the road and its front Has been damaged.Looks like the luxury car has hit the front as the bonnet is damaged.

The vehicle was identified as a Ferrari 488, which is worth over Rs 2 crore. Though the driver did not suffer any injuries, the accident must have definitely left a hole in his pocket.

Noting that the accident happened on April 1, the Derby Police Unit clarified that this was not an April fool joke.

As soon as the news of the accident was shared on Twitter, users were quick to react to it. People appeared very curious about the crash as one user wrote “why did they crash it.” One person even expressed concern for the driver and asked if he had “taken out gap insurance.”

This user had doubts about the skill of the driver and said that people often buy flashy cars and crash them due to lack of knowledge.

In another similar incident, a man in the Netherlands crashed his new Ferrari Pista. The supercar, worth over Rs 2.2 crore, was just a day old when the driver crashed it. The accident was also caught on tape in which the car was seen sliding off the road and hitting a tree.

In the end, whether it’s a Ferrari or not, no one wants their car to be involved in an accident. Certainly not on the day it was bought.
