Umesh Pal murder case: In an important development in the Umesh Pal murder case, the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested the owner of the vehicle used in the crime. According to India TV sources, the owner of the white Creta has been identified as Rukhsar Ahmed alias Pintu and was arrested from Bahraich district of UP on Saturday. Police said he was a travel agent and used to rent out his vehicles. When the police arrested Ahmed, he was trying to flee to neighboring Nepal.
Notably, early last month, Umesh was attacked with a crude bomb and shot outside his house, resulting in the death of a key witness. During the incident, police confirmed that one of Pal’s bodyguards, who also sustained bullet injuries, later died in a hospital. Both the gunners were deployed by the government under Pal’s security.
According to the police, the assistants were keeping an eye on Pal from three vehicles – two motorcycles and a white colored SUV. Police said they abandoned a motorcycle after firing. Also, the police revealed that they had come away with four pistols and a bag full of country-made bombs.
Meanwhile, giving details about Rukhsar, the police said that he had bought the SUV from Nafees Ahmed, who is Rukhsar’s relative. Police said that Nafees runs a Biryani shop in Prayagraj. Both met each other at the outlet and then sold their car to Rukhsar.
