Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal said here on Saturday that the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) will enable customers to connect with vendors of their choice.
Speaking at a meeting organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Invest India, he spoke about the importance of ONDC network, which has the potential to break down barriers and empower. On suggestions for diversification and expansion into new economies like Japan for textiles, the minister said that the Ministry of Textiles would support such efforts. He also urged the industry members to guide the projects undertaken by the students in institutes like NIFT and said that the institutes can in turn train and conduct workshops for skill development of the employees. He also assured to take steps to meet the need of integrating multiple accreditations required by the pump industry.
