UP govt to provide free treatment to patients in emergency care for 48 hours

The Uttar Pradesh government will provide free treatment for 48 hours to every person admitted in emergency care. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Sunday that Rs 3,000 crore will be spent by the government for free treatment. Of 3,000 crore proposed by the government, 1,614 will be spent on development of basic health facilities in five years.

Furthermore, on average, 550 crore will be spent every year to provide free treatment to trauma and non-trauma medicine patients.

government total 300 crore will be spent on augmenting the ambulance service and 750 ambulances with advanced life support systems will be procured.

In addition, about Rs 165 crore will be allocated for operation of ambulances for salary and training of employees. The annual expenditure on operation and maintenance of call centre, command centre, software will be approx. 125 crore, informed the Govt.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) of UP, Adityanath Sarkar Will continue to address the issue of geographical disparity in the healthcare sector by creating medical colleges in each of the 75 districts of the state.

The CMO office said that Uttar Pradesh will be the first state in India to have a live emergency monitoring system. A plan is being made to implement Live Emergency Monitoring System in the state in a phased manner. The first 48 hours are very important for the life of any emergency patient. Therefore, as per the resolution of the Chief Minister, it is proposed to provide free treatment for the first 48 hours to the emergency care patients in the state for the safety of every life,” the government official said.

To implement this scheme, an Integrated Trauma and Emergency Center will be built on the lines of the Kovid Command Center.

The state’s Live Emergency Monitoring System will facilitate easy admission to hospitals especially in case of emergency.

The UP government had promised that ambulance services would be available on a single call.
