Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday conducted an aerial survey of the Kanwar Yatra in western Uttar Pradesh by helicopter. The helicopter took off from Hindon airbase and the CM took stock of the travel of Kanwariyas in Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat and Muzaffarnagar.

Walking barefoot, kanwariyas (devotees of Lord Shiva) collect water from the Ganges river in Haridwar to be offered to Shiva temples in their areas as part of the yatra.

The district administrations in Meerut and Baghpat welcomed the Kanwariyas, showered them with flower petals from helicopters.

Adityanath’s helicopter passed over the Aughadnath temple in Meerut, Pura Mahadev in Baghpat, Shiv Chowk in Muzaffarnagar and the Dudheshwarnath temple in Ghaziabad. This step of the district administration was welcomed by the devotees.

As soon as the CM’s helicopter reached near the Kanwariyas, they started raising slogans of ‘Yogi Zindabad’.

Adityanath greeted the Kanwariyas on the highway.

Kanwariyas were welcomed on the instructions of UP CM.

Earlier, before the Kanwar Yatra, the CM held a state-level meeting to facilitate easy and comfortable travel for the Kanwariyas.
