UP man kills ex-girlfriend, chops body into 6 parts, arrested: Police

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found in a well here, officials said on Sunday.

In a statement, the police said that Prince Yadav was shot in an encounter with the police on Sunday when he was taken to a place to recover the woman’s head.

According to the police, Yadav was arrested on Saturday. Yadav had hidden a country-made pistol at the spot and used it against the police while trying to escape from police custody.

The incident came to light on November 15 when some locals found the body inside a well located outside West Village.

Superintendent of Police (Azamgarh) Anurag Arya had earlier said that the body of the woman, later identified as that of Aradhana, was found in a semi-naked condition, and looked to be two to three days old.

The incident comes after a similar report in Delhi, where a 28-year-old man allegedly strangulated his live-in partner and cut her body into 35 pieces, which he kept in his house for nearly three weeks. Kept in a 300 liter fridge. housing for several days before dumping them across town.

Yadav, with the help of her parents, cousin Sarvesh and other family members, had planned to kill Aradhana, said to be in her mid-20s, because she was married to someone else and not him.

She lived in Ishakpur village of Azamgarh district.

So far it has come to light that Yadav had an affair with the victim, who had married someone else earlier this year.

On November 9, Yadav took Aradhana to the temple on a bike.

When they reached there, he strangulated her in the sugarcane field with the help of Sarvesh. Police said the duo cut his body into six parts, packed them in a polythene bag and dumped them in a well.

The head was thrown into a pond some distance away.

So far, the police have recovered a sharp weapon, a country-made pistol and a cartridge in the case.

Sarvesh, Pramila Yadav, Suman, Rajaram, Kalavati, Manju, Sheela, all of whom allegedly helped Yadav in the crime, are still absconding.
