US CEO Bors Top Artist because “Fire Gone”, argue online

After accepting a CEO of California-based startup, it ignited the online discussion that he completely removed a highly received employee because “his fire went away”. Taking LinkedIn, the founder and CEO of the Trivium Group, Meena Elias revealed that he had allowed one of his most successful team members to go, not because he had reduced or lacking skills, but because his attitude was no longer aligned with the company’s vision. He also stated that when the employee continued the result and had a strong skill, his influence started shrinking.

“I once fired a top artist. Not because he was not good … was his fire gone,” Mr. Eliias wrote. He further explained his decision and gave three reasons. “The number was there, but the attitude was closed. The skills were strong, but the drive was disappearing. The effect was shrinking, and so ROI (return to investment),” he said, “he said,” someone was just that they were great, great for poor leadership. Development requires difficult decisions. ”

In his post, Mr. Elias also asked the LinkedIn community if he would ever give fire to a stellar artist.

The CEO post has held a warm discussion on social media. Some users biased with Mr. Elias, arguing that the lack of drive could be harmful to the entire team, even if a person’s output is commendable. However, some criticized the CEO’s argument, stating that the price of the employee should be assessed mainly based on their tangible contribution rather than the subjective perceptions of their approach.

One user wrote, “Let someone go to a person who is still performing on paper, but is already mentally checking that any founder/CEO is one of the most difficult calls. But I can fully relate that keeping them is more expensive than firing them,” a user wrote.

“This is a hard call! Meena Elias is sometimes about the overall vibe, not only about numbers. It is important to keep the team motivated!” Made another comment.

However, a user wrote, “It seems that the person has lost his passion. It is probably on you, and you should discuss it with that person. Instead you chose to throw them out because you can’t really worry to be a manager. If you are how you treat the top-habitat, how do you treat those who are not?”

“You are not a leader of a bullying. Leaders help people grow, the bullies are expected to have a top performance without knowing where it comes from. You are not ready,” another said.

“Maybe a good idea will be to understand why the fire is gone. Making and maintaining an inspirational workplace continues to fire and it will ensure continuity and it will be great leadership. Firing people would definitely create a lot of noise and disturbance in your company when the number is good,” a user commented.

A linkedin user wrote, “You found it wrong. A bad leader fires people, a good leader inspires them.”
