US man arrested on animal cruelty charges after beheading python

It is not uncommon for a snake to bite a human. But how often do you hear about a snake biting a human? Well, you might find it hard to imagine, but this actually happened in the United States of America. Eating snakes is common in some parts of the world, but in this strange case, a man allegedly beheaded a snake while it was alive. If you are wondering where did he get the snake? It is being told that the python was a pet of a woman with whom the accused has a domestic dispute.

Kevin Justin Mayorga, 22, has been arrested for animal cruelty and other charges in Cutler Bay, Florida, after police claimed he sank his teeth into the snake and bit off its head, according to a NBC Miami report. The incident occurred after Kevin got into an altercation with a woman at the Cutler Bay Apartments. The police report claimed that after officers arrived at the address, they heard a man and a woman shouting, screaming and cursing at each other. The moment the police knocked on the door, the woman pleaded with them and said, “Kick down the door!”

When the officers entered, they found a snake with its head cut off near the door. The accused tried to flee from the spot by closing a door behind them to prevent the police from reaching them.

The accused had allegedly tried to keep the woman against her will. When asked by the police, he refused to show his hands and passed out and the police had to use a taser on him. However, this had no effect on the accused.

According to the report, the accused lunged at an officer and hit him with his handcuffs, resulting in abrasions and swelling.

Eventually the police succeeded in taking him into custody. Police officials claimed that he continued to resist arrest. The woman told officers that she had chopped off the head of her pet ball python.
