Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time and is returning to isolation, his White House doctor said on Saturday, attributing the result to a “rebound” positivity from the treatment the US president received.
The president’s physician, Kevin O’Connor, wrote in a memo, 79-year-old Biden “tested positive by antigen test, Saturday morning,” after four consecutive days of negative tests, and “will resume strict isolation procedures.” “

“The president has not experienced a re-emergence of symptoms and is feeling well. In this case, there is no reason to restart treatment at this time,” he said.
The second positive test came three days after O’Connor said Biden had tested negative for the disease and no longer needed to isolate, which he had been doing since receiving the first positive result on July 21.
