Mr. Riddell Hits the Jackpot in the Oregon Lottery Win for Life Game
Robin Riddell, a truck driver from Oregon, took the golden ticket and is now set for the rest of his life with a hefty paycheck every week. On May 8, Mr. Riddell won a jackpot in the Oregon Lottery’s Win for Life game, which qualifies him for weekly payments of $1,000 for life.
After the big win, Mr. Riddell said, “I hit it. I was successful. In the next two to three years, I expect to retire.”
Mr. Riedel, who drives a truck for a concrete company, said he has played the game regularly since it launched in 2001.
“I hit him!” They said. “I hit him!”
Riddell plans to use the winnings – $52,000 a year – to pay bills, make improvements to the home he bought with his wife Debbie three years ago, and celebrate the couple’s upcoming wedding anniversary in St. Lucia To mark, according to a press release. Oregon Lottery,
Riddell said, “The money will allow us to do some things we wouldn’t be able to do. I’m looking forward to retiring in the next two to three years.”
Meanwhile, earlier, an Australian couple hit the lottery jackpot twice in one week, winning more than a million dollars. The prize money has been doubled as the husband forgot to submit his favorite ticket numbers during the draw last week, leaving the wife fuming. Hoping to make up for the mistake, the man bought another ticket and submitted it for the draw. A couple from Dapto, just south of Wollongong, were awarded A$2 million Australian dollars (USD 1.3 million) for winning two Division One prizes in the Monday Lotto.
