Bhadohi: A 21-year-old youth slit the girl’s throat when she refused to talk, but was saved due to timely treatment. The police gave this information on Tuesday. The accused has been arrested and a case of attempt to murder has been registered against him, he said.
Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Dr Anil Kumar said that accused Rajkumar Gautam wanted to talk to a 20-year-old woman living in his neighborhood in Suravaya town, but she refused to do so and also blocked her number.
On Monday evening when she was buying vegetables, Gautam reached the market and wanted to know why he had not spoken to her. The SP said that after this he took out a sharp weapon and slit his throat and fled from the spot.
The woman started bleeding profusely and was taken to a nearby primary health centre. He was later referred to the Trauma Center in Varanasi.
The SP said her condition was critical last night but she was out of danger on Tuesday.
