On 26 May, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the first budget of Yogi Adityanath’s second term government to the state assembly. Adityanath government presented the budget for the financial year 2021-22 5,50,270.78 crores. 112 The second phase of the scheme will start in this financial year, he said, and the allocation of 730.88 crore was recommended for its strengthening under Police Emergency Management System.
Presenting the budget, Khanna said, “The state’s economy is improving rapidly. We are confident that we will be able to take the state’s economy to one trillion dollars.”
Khanna announced the budget sitting next to CM Yogi Adityanath A demand of Rs 276.66 crore has been made for the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force responsible for the security of courts, historical and religious places like Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura.
Yogi Adityanath had earlier said that a public welfare budget dedicated for the overall development of Uttar Pradesh would be presented. The budget was passed in the morning cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at his official residence here before being presented in the House.
“Public welfare budget dedicated for the all-round development of Uttar Pradesh will be presented in the House today. Taking inspiration from the respected Prime Minister, the double engine government of BJP is working tirelessly to make Uttar Pradesh a ‘development engine’ for the country,” Adityanath said. State Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna also said that the budget will be for the benefit of the people and according to the BJP’s election schedule.
Some of the highlights of the UP budget are as follows:
- There is a provision of Rs 6,15,518.97 crore in the budget for the financial year 2022-23. 39,181.10 crore for new schemes.
- UP government has given proposal 276.66 crore for the special security force of the state entrusted with the security of the courts and historical and religious places including Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura.
3. The BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath has proposed 75.50 crore for women empowerment scheme. The state government has proposed to set up cyber help desks for women at the district level.
4. Provision of 20 crore has been proposed for the safety and empowerment of women and skill development under the Mission Shakti program in the micro and small scale industries sector.
5. The state government made a proposal for the farmers 650 crores under Kisan Accident Scheme. There is a provision to provide maximum 5 lakh in case of accidental death/disability under the scheme.
5. The Finance Minister of the state has promised to install 15,000 solar pumps in the current financial year. Apart from this, a target has also been set to distribute 119.30 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizers in the budget.
6. State Proposed There is a proposal of one thousand crores for the Chief Minister’s Small Irrigation Scheme.
7. The Uttar Pradesh government will distribute two crore smartphones/tablets to the youth under the party’s ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp’ letter.
8. For Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, 1,500 crore has been proposed in the budget.
9. To promote entrepreneurship and innovation in various sectors among the youth, the state government aims to set up a total of 100 incubators and 10,000 startups in the next five years.
10. The Adityanath government implemented the Abhyudaya Yojana with an aim to provide coaching facilities to the competitive students near their homes. According to the Finance Minister of UP, a provision 30 crore is proposed for the scheme.
11. Provision of 10 crore is proposed to provide financial assistance to young lawyers to buy books and magazines for the first three years of work.
12. A provision of Rs.95 crore is also proposed for land purchase for the establishment of International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi district.
13. Under the MGNREGA scheme for employment generation, 26 crore man-days were created in the financial year 2021-22 and a target of creating 32 crore man-days has been set under the scheme in the financial year 2022-23. ,
14. Under the Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rozgar Yojana, in the year 2022-23, a target is to provide employment to 16,000 people by setting up 800 units.
- 15. 40,402 teachers have been selected in secondary education and 7,540 posts have been created after the interview in teacher selection.
