Lucknow: Lucknow Police on Sunday arrested two more people who offered prayers inside the city. Lulu Mall On July 12 without the permission of the mall administration.
Both are identified as mohammed roufi (28) and Saud Azizo (25).
Police have so far arrested seven people out of eight people who were purportedly seen offering prayers inside the mall in a video that went viral on social media, days after the UP CM inaugurated the international venture. Yogi Adityanath and the head of Lulu Group on July 10.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Zone, Rajesh Srivastava Told that after interrogation, both were arrested from Chaupatia street on Sunday. Adil Who was arrested a day earlier in the same case.
“Rauf and Saud work as embroidery workers in the Chowk area and had gone to the mall with friends,” Srivastava said.
The official said the CCTV installed inside the mall saw the duo entering the market, buying some items and offering prayers.
The officer also said that when the police asked the two why they were performing the puja, they said that Lukman, one of the people arrested earlier, had asked them to do so.
Sources close to the investigation said that now only a minor, seen in the video purportedly performing puja inside the mall on July 12, remains free.
So far, the police have arrested Mohammad Rehan, Atif Khan, Lukman Ali, Nauman Ali, Adil and both on Sunday.
A company of PAC has also been deployed in the mall along with the police so that surveillance can be done and drones are also being used for surveillance.
