Uttarakhand: Newly elected MLA will take oath, CM’s name will be announced tomorrow

The newly elected MLAs will take oath of office at 9.30 am tomorrow during the swearing-in ceremony in the assembly. The ruling BJP did emerged victorious During the recent assembly elections in Uttarakhand, it won 47 seats in the 70-member assembly.

Pro-tem Speaker of Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly Bansidhar Bhagat and Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmeet Singh said the newly elected MLAs will take oath on Monday.

An official of Raj Bhavan Secretariat confirmed this to the news agency. ANI That the swearing-in ceremony will be held at 9.30 am at Raj Bhavan.

Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand BJP chief Madan Kaushik had also said that all new members of the assembly will take oath in the assembly tomorrow.

Kaushik had said that the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand will also be selected during today’s legislature party meeting, the name will be disclosed on Monday.

For the past few days, BJP leaders are continuously discussing to form the government in Uttarakhand, although no name has been decided for the post of CM.

Today Pushkar Singh Dhami, Kaushik and former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda and party leaders BL Santosh and Uttarakhand Minister Satpal Maharaj.

Dhami said the BJP leadership would soon take a final call on the chief minister’s face in the state. Despite losing, Dhami’s name has been proposed by some BJP leaders, including MLA Rekha Arya, who supported Dhami as the next chief minister.

Six MLAs have so far said that they will vacate their seats for Dhami, who lost the election to a Congress candidate. Bhuvan Chandra Kapri by 6,579 votes.
