The ace actor-comedian recalls turbulent times in his career of late while announcing his new project with Lyca Productions
Tamil actor and comedian Vadivelu has announced his return to films, tentatively titled as a new project production number 23, under the banner of Lyca Productions.

The actor has been cast as the lead in the film, which is touted to be an all-out comedy directed by Sooraj. At a press meet held on Friday, Vadivelu thanked producer Subhashkaran for giving him a fresh start, as he had not acted in any film for years.
Vadivelu said that he was speaking from his heart, addressing the audience, “Nobody would have had pain, which has happened to me in recent times. People call me Vaigai PuyaliBut a storm destroyed my life.”
Describing his state of mind in recent times, Vadivelu further said, “A patient once went to a doctor and told him that his heart is not at peace, and he is not able to sleep. Requested medicines to cure the disease. To this, the doctor offered an alternative solution, and told him that there was a circus performing nearby, and a clown was making everyone laugh. Bought two tickets for himself and his wife, the doctor offered to take the patient to the circus on his wife’s ticket.(sic)
The doctor told him, “Your heart will be lightened by watching the Joker perform there and you will be able to sleep peacefully tonight.”
“But Pat came the patient’s answer: ‘Sir, I am that clown.'”
Vadivelu added, “I was also like that clown. I haven’t acted in any film in the last four years.”
“But then, a terrible disease called Corona came and brothers could not meet brothers, sons could not see mothers, wives could not meet husbands, parents could not meet their children. We all went through bad times together It was so bad that a wife had to ask her infected husband’s body to be removed as soon as possible because she feared for the safety of her children. The devastation of Corona made my troubles smaller. It came and people’s hearts and Created fear in the minds. It made them sleepless. At such times, the fact that my comedy acted as a medicine, healed their wounds, gave me some comfort,” he said.
The comedian then expressed his gratitude to Laika for helping him get his career back on track and promised that his journey here would be full of laughter. “My ambition is to keep people happy as long as I am alive. Let us all forget what has happened because we all have suffered a lot. Not just me, the film industry and the whole world has been affected.”
Vadivelu ended his talk by thanking Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, and said that everything “looks bright” since he met him. “It looks good. I believe whatever happens in the future will be good too. I pray for that and also seek your help in this regard.”
