A ticket for travel from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam by the Vande Bharat Express flagged off by video linkage by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday morning will cost Rs 1,665 in chair class and Rs 3,120 in executive class, including catering charges.
In the return direction from Visakhapatnam to Secunderabad, the fare will be Rs 1,720 in chair class and Rs 3,170 in executive class. The charges for up and down journey varied from ₹50 to ₹55 due to different food items in the catering service. Passengers will be served tea, breakfast, lunch (ex-Visakhapatnam) and dinner only from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam. The menu of food items, however, was not clear, though said it would depend on the local eating habits of the passengers.

The train will have 1,128 seats, including 1,024 in 14 economy class coaches and 104 seats in two executive class coaches. There were no sleeper coaches as the journey mostly took place while the passengers were awake. All coaches are air conditioned.
The fares for intermediate stations from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam by economy class are: Warangal ₹520, Khammam ₹750, Vijayawada ₹905, Rajahmundry ₹1,365. The base fare up to Visakhapatnam for the same class was fixed at Rs 1,207, but additional charges include reservation Rs 40, super fast service Rs 45, GST Rs 65 and catering Rs 308. The base fare for executive class is Rs 2,485 and add on charges for reservation are Rs 60, super fast service Rs 75, GST Rs 131 and catering Rs 369.
If the passenger does not want to avail the service, the catering charges will be deducted from the fare.
