Vijay in Tamil film ‘Vaarisu’
We’ve seen many Mother Sentiment’ films in Tamil cinema. Anything else ‘ appa Even the ones with feelings.
the heir, Vijay’s latest opening at the box office, not only puts together these two aspects that Tamil cinema has milked for many years, but also adds another dimension: the emotion between brothers. With so much content about a family with myriad problems among its members, the heir Looks like a popcorn tub that has seen many rounds of flavor seasons.
Bland popcorn at the movies isn’t exciting anymore, and that seems to be the case with on-screen action, too. Vijay has certainly experimented with genres in his last few films – Bigil was a sports drama, and Animal was about people trapped inside a mall – but this time, with the heirHe goes back to the formula that has worked well for him in the past: family.
Remember Vijay’s family Minsara Kanna (1999), A group of rich people pretending to be poor in order to unite the two? in the heirthey are rich – and Very Rich at that. The house they live in, which we see in a few minutes of the film, is one of the grandest houses you will ever see in Tamil cinema. The characters inside talk of business and make deals worth crores, chief among them is Rajendran (Sarath Kumar) whose business rival is Jayaprakash (Prakash Raj). Rajendran proudly boasts of his two sons – played by Srikanth and Sham – but avoids talking about his youngest son, Vijay. Why so? Will Vijay agree to give up his carefree life – the first time we see him, he is on a bike trip enjoying the sights and sounds of nature – and take an interest in his father’s multi-million business?
For the first part that relies heavily on slow, TV serial-like visuals, the heir There’s little weight to the emotional beats; The mother-son relationship seems superficial, while the brothers’ tussle to manage a multi-crore business seems trivial. Not helping the cause is some very average comic relief from Yogi Babu and a love story with Rashmika that is going nowhere. it’s only in the second half the heir Picks up some steam. A character’s decision pays off, and once Vijay slips into his all-too-familiar cute-fun zone, the heir becomes different Animal,
the heir
Cast: Vijay, Rashmika, R Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Sham, Srikanth
Director: Vamshi Paidipally
Storyline: Who will be the heir of the multi-crore business firm?
There are some dramatic moments that are bound to leave an impression. Highlighting old Vijay film references at an important business meeting is an idea that Vijay fans will celebrate in the cinema halls, as they will, when the star dances to the fast-paced ‘Ranjithem’ ,, Those last few seconds, oops.
But, as is the case with most hero movies, the heir Vijay needs to play the role of the knight in shining armor for every big or small problem in the house. And thus, we have an unnecessary track of someone getting kidnapped and Vijay rescuing him; Things that could have been removed to reduce the 170 minute long runtime. Composer Thaman gets the dance numbers right, and cinematographer Karthik Palani adds color to the sequences, but it is Vijay who seems to be having the most fun.
After a long time, it’s heartening to see him being funny and goofy again. There are plenty of moments in the second half – especially during his interactions with his brothers and Prakash Raj’s gang – during which Vijay goes back to having fun and being the hero we fell in love with a few decades ago. Before that he became socially conscious in his roles. further the heirThe steady plot and well-crafted emotional beats of this film directed by Vamshi Paidipally is what stays in your mind.
