The state unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has blamed the government for the alleged lack of facilities at Sabarimala as the Mandala Puja festival begins on Tuesday.
VHP state president Viji Thampi said the government had failed to complete the preparatory works ahead of the pilgrimage season. He alleged that even basic facilities like bathrooms are not ready for the devotees.
Mr Thampi urged the officials to take up road repair work and enable smooth movement of pilgrims to Sabarimala. This year the Mandala Puja festival is from November 16 to December 26.
