Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Milind Parande on Tuesday alleged that the Tamil Nadu government’s initial refusal to allow the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s route march was to appease Muslims.

Rejecting the concerns expressed by the government over law and order, he said that route marches are being organized by the RSS all over the country including Kerala. He accused the DMK government of being biased towards Hindu organizations and Hindus.

Addressing media persons during his visit to Chennai as part of VHP’s ongoing membership drive, he said the organization is planning to add two lakh members from Tamil Nadu through visits to 2,000 locations. When asked about its current membership in the state, he said that the organization does not want to look back and instead hopes to add members.

He said the organization is committed to enact laws against conversions in the entire country including Tamil Nadu and to transfer the management of all Hindu temples from the government to the Hindu society.
