He said that India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and according to economists, it is going to become the third largest economy by the end of this decade.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar indirectly targeted the Congress leader on Friday Rahul Gandhi On his remarks in London, he said that tarnishing India’s image on foreign soil should be prohibited.

Addressing a program here after releasing a postage stamp on the birth anniversary of noted social reformer Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Dhankhar said some Indians in some foreign institutions were planning to stop the development of the country.

The Vice President cited Swami Dayanand’s quotes about independence and his resistance to foreign rule and expressed displeasure over alleged comments made abroad to tarnish the image of India and its democratic institutions.

“It hurts when some of us go abroad and tarnish the image of rising India. It should be banned,” he said.

The Vice President said that a person who believes in India and Indianness will focus on enhancing the image of the country and contribute to it.

Dhankhar said, “There may be shortcomings, he will think about removing those shortcomings but criticizing foreign travel, making comments which are indecent on all parameters, this behavior is contrary to Swamiji’s thoughts.”

During an event in Britain, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the structure of Indian democracy was under attack and there was a “complete attack” on the country’s institutions.

Dhankhar said there was a time when institutions were named after select few and this gave the impression that there was a dearth of great personalities in the country.

Dhankhar insisted, “Since ancient times, India has been a land of sages. It has seen many incarnations of God… Ram is not imaginary. For us Ram is a part of our civilization. A reality.”

He said that the slogan of Swaraj was given by Swami Dayanand in 1876, which was taken forward by Lokmanya Tilak and later it became a mass movement.

Rajya Sabha Chairman said that there are some foreign organizations which are working towards stalling the growth story of India.

“Their aim is to stop the pace of India’s development… Our billionaires, industrialists contribute crores to the trusts set up there. I am not saying that their intention is wrong but maybe they have missed. Those crores Because of this, our own people prepare such a program that they are able to tarnish India.

The Vice President said that those institutions have students and teachers from many countries.

Dhankhar said, “Why do our people do this unseemly thing? Why don’t people from other countries do it? It is a matter of great concern. Now there has been a big change that such things don’t affect India.” ,

He said that Swami Dayanand wanted Indians to attain mental freedom.

He said, “Even after independence, we felt that we needed freedom from this. Swamiji’s soul would be happy in this era of Amrit Kaal. The slavery of foreign power has ended.”

The Vice President stressed the need to promote Sanskrit in the country.

He said, “There is no language in the world and no grammar like Sanskrit. In a way it is the mother of all languages ​​and we cannot let it perish.”

Yoga proponent Ramdev said that Maharishi Dayanand took the Vedas to Shudras and women.

He said that Dayanand never compromised on anything wrong and expressed his views against whatever he found wrong whether it was in Brahmins or Quran or Bible.
