A day after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the government of downplaying the threat posed by China, saying Beijing is preparing for war but Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration is “sleeping”, Rajasthan Chief Minister and Top Congress leader Ashok Gehlot today demanded an ‘explanation’. What worries Mr. Gandhi, he said, “The crisis is not that there is a war going on at the border, but the direction the country is going. That is a cause for concern.” He said that democratic institutions are being weakened in the country.
