video | Congress will oppose the Delhi Ordinance in Parliament

The Congress party held its second parliamentary strategy meeting at the residence of party parliamentary chief Sonia Gandhi on Saturday evening to discuss the issues to be raised in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. Several party leaders including party president Mallikarjun Kharge attended the meeting. The meeting, which lasted for one-and-a-half hours, deliberated on issues to be discussed in the upcoming Parliament session, including the unrest in Manipur and rail security, among others. The Congress on Saturday ended the suspense over its stand on the Centre’s ordinance to control bureaucracy in Delhi. Without naming the ordinance, the party announced that it would oppose all attacks by the Modi government on the constitutional rights and responsibilities of democratically elected state governments and local bodies, both inside and outside Parliament.
