Heavy rains across northern India have brought the region to its knees, causing widespread damage and claiming over 37 lives in the last three days. In Delhi, the Yamuna, which crossed the danger mark of 205.33 meters late last evening, rose to 206.32 meters this morning – as Haryana released more water into the river from Hathnikund Barrage. Officials said the river crossed the danger mark earlier than expected. “With more water being released by Haryana today, the Yamuna will rise further in the next 24 hours,” he said.
