A banded krait was successfully rescued in Bihar.
A forest guard is being honored as a hero for rescuing a highly venomous snake from a village in Terai region of Kishanganj district in Bihar and raising awareness among villagers about peaceful coexistence with wildlife. Forest guard Anil Kumar rescued a tied crate from Faringola village and thanked the villagers for calling the authorities and not killing the reptile. He also gave a speech on how humans should share space with other creatures and not feel threatened by them. His sudden speech was caught on camera and is now going viral on social media.
The video has been shared by Deepak Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bihar. It has got around 6,800 views on Twitter so far. The video shows Mr Kumar surrounded by villagers at night and another man holding a bag full of snakes.
“Please shut up,” said the forest guard to the curious crowd. “Please listen to me,” continued Mr. Kumar, speaking in Hindi.
“The people who informed the forest department about this snake did a great job. This (snake) is also a creature and we need not fear them. We just need to be a little cautious. Snakes are also a part of nature. Without them our planet is incomplete. God has created a defining role for all life. Some people kill snakes, but I’m glad you called us. This snake will be released in its habitat. My request to all of you is please do not kill snakes, always inform us,” he said.
Together we can, together we will!

What do you understand by the speech of Forest Guard? Impressive? Next time you see a stray snake, keep a safe distance. Just keep monitoring the reptile so you know where it is, and notify the relevant authorities immediately.
