Video of Japan’s Valley of Blue Flowers goes viral, internet shocked

When discussing spring in Japan, most people instinctively think of cherry blossoms. Although the beautiful flowers are a well-known phenomenon, there is one place closer to Tokyo that has equally stunning springtime views. A video of a picturesque valley of blue flowers is going viral on social media and users are simply awestruck by the beauty of the place.

The video of the same was shared by IAS officer Hari Chandana on Twitter. In the video, a hilly area is covered with tiny blue flowers. Visitors can be seen passing among the many blue flowers when the camera pans to view them.

Since being shared on Thursday, the clip has collected over 71,000 views on Twitter and over 800 likes.

One user commented, “Blue sky on earth.”

Another user said, “Really it’s amazingly beautiful.”

Another user wrote, “Heaven on Earth.”

A fourth person said, “Waves of Blue Petals.”

“The sky has fallen on the earth!” another person commented.

A Twitter user identified the plant as Nemophila or Baby Blue Eyes. This video is from Hitachi Seaside Park in Tokyo which is home to some of the most elaborate flower fields. The park has a large garden filled with flowers that change with the seasons, including snow roses and tulips, poppies and roses in winter. The park also has a Ferris wheel that is 100 feet above sea level and offers sweeping views of the blue sky, blue flowers, and blue sea. The nemophila flowers are two to three centimeters in size and are native to North America.
